Plano turf and outdoor living
Yes, we work across Plano
Plano sits directly north of us, and the two cities share the US 75 corridor, so it is one of the shortest runs our trucks make. The city is largely built out now, which changes the work: almost everything we do here is a renovation of a yard that already exists rather than a new build.
That means dealing with what a previous owner left behind. Old sod, tired irrigation, a patio in the wrong place, a lawn that has been reseeded five springs running. Our Richardson crew is in Plano most weeks, from the older neighborhoods near downtown out to the Legacy and Willow Bend side of the Tollway.
What Plano yards have in common
Plano grew fastest through the 1980s and 1990s, and a huge share of its housing dates from that stretch. Those yards were laid out the same way: a generous back lawn, a small builder patio, a few trees that were saplings then and are canopies now. Thirty years on, the trees shade out the grass, the patio is too small for how families live outside today, and the lawn is patchy where the kids and the dog use it hardest.
Underneath it is the same Blackland clay that runs through the whole metro, so ground movement is a constant. Plano is also on North Texas Municipal Water District supply, and watering limits in a dry summer are a normal part of the calendar here. A yard that only looks good under unrestricted irrigation is a yard on borrowed time, which is a big part of why turf has taken hold in this city.
What we handle here
What we build in Plano
Artificial Turf Installation
The trees that were planted when these neighborhoods went up are now big enough to kill the lawn under them, and no amount of reseeding changes that. We strip the failing grass, build a compacted base, set the falls so storm water leaves the yard, and lay turf that stays the same green in August as it is in March. Our turf installation work handles the shade rings, the fence lines and the worn tracks that a Plano lawn never recovers from.
Residential Turf Installation
Plano back yards get used hard, and the wear shows in the same places every time: the run to the gate, the goal mouth, the strip the dog patrols along the fence. A residential turf lawn takes all of it without going bare, drains fast enough to be usable the morning after a spring storm, and keeps mud out of the house. Our residential turf installation gets specified around the dogs, the kids and the pool if there is one.
Putting Green Turf
A lot of Plano back yards have a corner that has never done anything useful, and it is usually the right size for a green. We shape the contours into the base so putts break properly, set two or three cups at different lengths, and add a fringe collar for chip and run shots. The greens we build are made to roll true, because a green that dies on a soft patch stops getting used within a month.
Walkway Paving
Builder walkways in these neighborhoods tend to be narrow ribbons in the wrong place, and you can usually see the worn track people take instead. We set routes out on site first, then build them, whether that is stepping stones bedded flush into a turf lawn or a wider continuous walk to the front door. A properly set walkway changes how a house reads from the street more than almost anything else at the same cost.
Why Plano calls us
Why Plano homeowners choose Palms
Proximity is part of it. We are one city south, so a Plano estimate is a short trip and the crew is not burning half a day on the road. That matters on a renovation, where things get discovered once the old surface comes up and somebody has to come back.
The rest is that we do the whole yard. Design, turf, stone, levels and paving under one company, so the lawn edge meets the patio properly and the drainage is one plan rather than three. Palms Living Oasis is family run and has worked this metro since 2008, and the people who quote your yard are the people who build it.
Where you will see us in Plano
US 75 is our way in, and the older neighborhoods either side of it around historic downtown Plano are where a lot of our renovation work sits. Those yards have the most mature trees and the most tired lawns, which is the combination that usually gets us called.
West of there, across the Dallas North Tollway, the Legacy and Willow Bend side of the city gives us the bigger back yards, the pools and the putting greens. Preston Road, Parker Road and Legacy Drive are the routes we run most, and there is usually a Palms job somewhere along one of them.

Straight answers about artificial turf in North Texas
How quickly can you get to a job in Plano?
Quickly. We are one city south in Richardson and Plano is a straight run up US 75, so estimates and callbacks are easy and there is no travel charge on the quote.
My Plano lawn dies under the trees every year. Can turf fix it?
Yes, and it is the most common reason people here call us. Turf does not need light, so the shaded rings and fence lines that never recover finally stay green year round.
Will turf keep looking good during Plano watering restrictions?
It needs no irrigation at all, so restrictions stop being something that decides how your yard looks in August. That is a large part of why turf has spread through this city.
Can you replace an old patio and lawn in Plano together?
That is our preferred way to do it. Doing the paving and the turf as one project means the levels, edges and drainage all get planned together instead of fought over later.
Do you install putting greens in Plano back yards?
Often. Plano lots usually have a corner that has never been used for anything, and that is exactly the space a green with a couple of cups and some real break fits into.
Do you work west of the Tollway as well?
Yes, all across Plano. The Legacy and Willow Bend side gives us the larger yards and pools, and the older east side gives us the shade and renovation work. Both are home turf for us.
