Frisco turf and outdoor living
Yes, we work across Frisco
Frisco is the newest city we work in and one of the busiest. Most of it went up in the last twenty five years, which means small to medium back yards behind large houses, thin builder sod and a lot of ground that was compacted flat by machinery before anybody planted anything on it.
It is also a sports town, with the Dallas Cowboys headquarters at The Star, Toyota Stadium, and the PGA of America headquarters and its Fields Ranch courses on the north side. Greens and practice areas are a bigger share of our Frisco work than anywhere else, and the crew that builds them runs straight up the Tollway to get here.
What new build Frisco yards start with
A new house rarely comes with a finished yard. What it comes with is a rectangle of thin sod over ground that heavy machinery drove across for months, with the topsoil scraped off and the clay underneath compacted hard. Grass on that struggles from the first summer, and once a dog or a soccer ball is added it is bare by autumn.
The lots are the other factor. Frisco builds houses large and yards modest, so the usable outdoor space is often smaller than the family expected, and there are no mature trees to soften it yet. That puts real pressure on the design: a small, sunny, hard baked yard has to be a lawn, a terrace and a play area at once. It is also why turf works so well here, because it holds up under concentrated use in a way thin sod never will.
What we handle here
What we build in Frisco
Putting Green Turf
Frisco has more golf in the water than anywhere else in the metro, and a lot of that turns into back yard greens. Even on a modest new build lot there is normally room for a curved green with two or three cups, real break shaped into the base and a fringe collar for chip shots. Add a practice net and the yard covers most of the short game. The greens we install are built to hold pace and roll true.
Sports Field Turf Supply
Frisco kids play, and a goal in the corner of a builder lawn wears a bald crescent before the season is over. A turf run sized for the age group takes that punishment without a bare patch, drains fast enough to be usable the day after rain, and keeps mud out of the house. We match pile height and infill to the sport. The practice and field surfaces we supply scale from a back yard run up to a full field.
Residential Turf Installation
Builder sod over compacted construction clay is a lawn with a short future, and most Frisco homeowners find that out in their second summer. We strip it, take out the crushed material, build a proper stone base with real falls, and lay a lawn that stays green and level. On a small sunny lot that changes the whole yard. A proper home lawn build is where most Frisco projects start.
Paver Installation
The standard new build patio is a small slab that no furniture fits on, and extending it in poured concrete on this ground invites a crack. Pavers flex with the clay instead, spread movement through the joints, and can be lifted and reset years later. We excavate, compact the base in layers, screed, set and restrain the edges. Laying pavers properly turns that starter slab into a real terrace.
Why Frisco calls us
Why Frisco homeowners choose Palms
Because finishing a new build yard properly is a single project, not a series of upgrades. Most Frisco yards get a slab extension one year, a lawn repair the next and a play area after that, and none of them line up. We plan the whole thing, then build it with our own crew, so the terrace, the lawn, the green and the drainage are one decision.
And because we deal with the construction ground underneath. That compacted clay is the reason the builder sod failed, and covering it over just repeats the problem. Palms Living Oasis is family run and has built outdoor spaces across this metro since 2008, from design through installation.
Where you will see us in Frisco
The Dallas North Tollway is our route up, and it runs right past The Star, the Dallas Cowboys headquarters, which is the landmark most people use to place the middle of the city. The residential streets either side of it are where a lot of our work sits.
Further north, out toward the PGA of America headquarters and the Fields Ranch courses, the golf influence on our workload is obvious, and back yard greens are a regular request in those neighborhoods. Preston Road, Legacy Drive and Main Street are the other routes we run most often across town.
Where we work
Outdoor spaces we build in Frisco
We cover Frisco from the Tollway corridor out to the newer neighborhoods north and west. It is one run for us down to Plano just south of here and across to McKinney, both of which we serve too.

Straight answers about artificial turf in North Texas
Do you work in Frisco?
Yes, regularly. Frisco is a straight run up the Dallas North Tollway from our Richardson base, and there is no travel charge on an estimate anywhere in the city.
My Frisco builder sod died in the first summer. Why?
Almost always the ground under it. Construction traffic compacts the clay and the topsoil is usually scraped off, so thin sod has nothing to root into and gives up in the first hot stretch.
Is a Frisco back yard big enough for a putting green?
Usually yes. Shape matters more than size, so a curved green with two or three cups and genuine break fits a modest new build lot and still gives you a real variety of putts.
Can you build a soccer or practice area in Frisco?
Often, and it is one of our most common requests here. A turf run sized to the ages playing takes the wear that strips a natural lawn bare, and it is usable the day after rain.
Can you extend the small patio the builder left?
Yes, and pavers are the right way to do it on this ground. They flex with the clay rather than cracking, and they tie into the existing slab if what is under it is sound.
How hot does turf get in an open Frisco yard?
New lots have no mature shade yet, so it does warm in full afternoon sun. Lighter blends, a shade structure and a quick rinse all help, and we talk it through before we spec the lawn.
