Why Dallas Homeowners Choose Palms

One crew from the first measurement to the last brush pass

Most outdoor projects get split up. Somebody draws it, somebody else lays the stone, a third crew does the turf, and the joins between them are where the budget quietly disappears. Palms Living Oasis has worked the other way since 2008: we design the yard, we build the yard, and one company is answerable for the finished result. You can read the story of the family behind the company if you want to know who you are dealing with first.

In the owner's own words, we take pride in our work from design to installation, and believe the results speak for themselves. Every one of our services is delivered by that same crew.

Most of the job happens before anything looks like anything

The part of our work that never makes it into a photograph is the part that decides whether the yard lasts. Stripping the old surface and the soft material. Building and compacting the stone base in layers. Setting the falls so storm water leaves the property instead of sitting on clay. Get that right and a lawn stays flat, a patio stays level and a wall stays straight. Get it wrong and nothing on top can save it. That groundwork is the first half of every turf lawn we lay.

Residential and commercial, held to the same standard

We work on family back yards and on property that has to look right every day it trades: restaurant patios, courtyards, offices, apartment communities and clubs. The specification changes, because a commercial surface needs a denser base, a tougher blade and seams routed away from the walking lines, but the standard does not. The same people quote both. Our work on commercial property gets phased so a business stays open while we work.

Turf is only part of what a yard needs

A lawn on its own rarely finishes a property. The levels, the beds, the stone, the shade and the outdoor room are what make it somewhere you spend time. Because we handle all of it, the lawn edge meets the terrace properly, the path lands where the design put it, and the drainage is one plan instead of three contractors each assuming somebody else dealt with it. That is what our landscaping side exists to do.

Built for ground that moves

North Texas sits largely on Blackland Prairie clay, which swells when it takes water and shrinks hard when it dries out. Over a normal year it does both, which is why so much outdoor work here fails early: slabs crack, paths rock, walls lean and lawns go lumpy. We build to that reality rather than around it, with compacted bases, restrained edges and planned drainage. Our paving work is specified with the movement in mind, not in spite of it.

One local crew covering the whole metro

We run everything out of 300 Syracuse Pl in Richardson, which sits on the Dallas and Collin county line with US 75 and the President George Bush Turnpike crossing through it. That puts Plano, Garland, Allen, Frisco and McKinney a short run north and east, and Dallas, the Park Cities, Irving and Southlake a short run south and west. See all of our service areas, or call and tell us where you are.
